The State Office of Diversity and Inclusion has scheduled a series of meetings Sept. 20–22 to obtain feedback from the business community as part of its ongoing disparity study involving contracts awarded to minority-, women- and veteran-owned businesses (MWVOB).
The online meetings will explain the methodology for the New Jersey Disparity Study, discuss how businesses can get involved, and provide information on upcoming state contracts.
The study, which is being conducted by Mason Tillman Associates, is assessing whether there is a disparity between the number of qualified MWVOB ready, able and willing to perform services, and the number of MWVOB vendors and contractors hired by the state.
The virtual town halls will be held online twice a day (12 noon and 5:30 p.m.) on Sept. 20, Sept. 21, and Sept. 22. To register to attend one of these six stakeholder meetings go here.
“The study will give us the tools and the information necessary to determine where our strengths and weaknesses lie so we can implement more equitable procurement strategies moving forward,” said Hester Agudosi, of the New Jersey Office of Diversity and Inclusion.
